Regrowth
When conventional doctors speak of hair regrowth they are referring to improving the quality of the existing hair but they don’t go a step further to target the hair roots. Doctors don’t regrow lost hair, instead they temporarily extend the life of existing hair. Let's take a look at what real regrowth entails. When we speak of real regrowth, it's at a root level in particular the hair follicle. The definition of regrowth according to Google is “Renewed growth or expansion”. Technically doctors are correct as it does happen to an extent, existing hair grows again but it's not enough to produce those luscious locks we once had. In order to have what you once had you need to regrow those roots back. Although regrowing the root and hair can both be classified as regrowth. When the word regrowth is heard what comes to mind is regrowing what you once had as a youth. After all, regrowth means regrowing what once ceased to grow. It's a marketing ploy intended to entice customers or it may just be because there isn’t another word to describe it. Regardless it does serve to bring in many customers. A more fitting word is management but it's less enticing. In a competitive environment calling it management would be a sure way to lose customers to your competitors. Hair loss management treats your hair loss but doesn’t cure it. Your original hairline and hair density you were born with that fit your particular face is not regrown. There are many hair loss treatments but none of them regrow dead hair follicles. What all hair loss treatments have in common is that they lower the standard of what regrowth means in order to pass their treatment as a success. To them preserving hair is classed as success. You on the other hand want to thrive.
Spiritual regrowth
Regrowing a hair follicle that was once lost is called spiritual regrowth. To fight baldness in an efficient manner without losing valuable time, effort and money, you have to deal with the root and work your way up until your hair grows. The root cause is the sexual organ which leaks sexual energy in pursuit of carnival desires. A castrated man doesn't lose hair because the ability to leak energy has been lost. On the flipside the ability to transmute sexual energy has also been lost, in other word hair regrowth can never occur. To recover hair a person must transmute energy upwards away from the sexual organ. The practice resembles kundalini but it's different. It's composed of two practices that depend on each other like yin and yang. Chastity and meditation are the two pillars that intertwine together to hold up a hair in place. So many have failed to practice chastity and meditation because it's harder than it sounds. Even religious leaders fall short of the standard they preach openly. An individual has to follow a clear cut methodology and adapt it to suit their life. More details will be given in later chapters.
Superficial regrowth
All modern hair regrowth treatments are superficial and deal with surface level problems. The root problem isn’t being targeted in order to have a real regrowth. The underlying problem is that the hair follicle is either dying or already dead as a result of imbalanced hormones. Doctors typically prolong the life of a hair follicle by the following means.
- Transition hair follicle to growth phase
- Reactivate dormant hair follicle
- Improve quality of existing hair follicle
- Redistribute hair follicles on the scalp
To sum up, a new hair follicle hasn’t emerged in reality there is still the same number of hair follicles which are manipulated. Doctors can’t regrow dead hair follicles so they turn their attention towards prolonging a dying hair follicle. Your hair is forced into a growth phase by drugs or other methods such as micro needling. These superficial methods consume time, effort, and money. Moreover they cause unpleasant side effects. The worst part is the end result is a substandard hair that only manages to conceal a bald spot. Often hair that results from superficial treatments can’t be styled to their full potential. Patients eventually give in to baldness because it's not worth the fight. We will look at a couple here.
Hair transplant
When the remaining hair follicles aren’t enough to conceal a bald spot, a hair transplant then becomes a suitable option. This procedure is popular among men who are too advanced in male pattern baldness and have lost many hair follicles. The procedure is marketed under hair regrowth options. Doctors and patients alike usually talk about hair regrowth. The procedure simply moves existing hair follicles in the donor area to the recipient area. The recipient area then grows hair from the transplant hair follicle. You still have the same number of hair follicles. The procedure bears a striking resemblance to a combover where hair is combed forward or sideways to cover a bald spot. The procedure is nothing but a glorified hairstyle operation. The procedure will not only have a short term toll on your body but an ongoing one. To stop further hair loss or unnecessary hair transplants you need medication to stabilize hair loss. More hair loss will give you an abnormal hair pattern that looks worse than regular male pattern baldness therefore it is vital you follow preventative medication. You are locked into medication until your hair stabilizes by itself. Transplanted hair follicles from the donor area are different from hair on the recipient. Transplant hair follicles don’t belong in the recipient area. They don’t assimilate in terms of texture and microbiome although this can’t be perceived from the naked eye but a closer inspection can reveal a lot. Cobblestoning can occur where the donor grafts heal above the surrounding skin, creating an uneven surface. Transplanted hair angulation and direction must be perfect which is a difficult feat for a surgeon. Also the number of hair in each follicular unit must be considered when transplanting into a location. With all the details to account for, complications are bound to happen even with the best surgeon. Furthermore, transplanted hair is an obstacle for the regrowth of new hair follicles that can be achieved with spiritual regrowth.
Hairstyle
Hairstyles are a cheaper option and don’t have a toll on your body. They come in two flavors when dealing with male pattern baldness. Either a combover or clean-shaven dome. The former combs hair to conceal a bald spot. It's all about redistributing hair strands to different locations of the scalp. The latter cuts hair shorter making bald spot and hairy spot appear equal in density and length. Both styles give the illusion of more hair follicles. Hairstyles need maintenance and may need styling often. Hairstyles can conceal hair loss while you work to regrow hair spiritually. The transition from bald to full hair will be streamlined with less suspicion and gossip behind your back.
Finasteride
Finasteride grows your hair thicker by blocking a portion of the agent called DHT which seems to be the culprit to male pattern baldness. This stops hair miniaturization from continuing to damage hair until its subsequent death. Blocking DHT will not revive dead hair follicles thus there isn’t hair regrowth. Hair follicles are transitioned to the growth phase from the resting phase. Overall the quality of hair follicles improves which also impacts its look. Finasteride is mainly used to stop hair loss not to regrow lost hair. The medication has side effects. Common sexual complications are erectile dysfunction and loss in libido. Serious complications such as depression and infertility are rare. Notably infertility isn’t worth the risk for some even though the chances are very low. You need to take it continuously for it to improve hair quality.
Minoxidil
Minoxidil is applied to the scalp to stimulate hair regrowth by increasing blood flow to areas experiencing hair miniaturization. This exact mechanism isn’t confirmed because when other vasodilators that increase blood flow are used, similar hair improvement doesn't occur. Nevertheless minoxidil improves the quality of hair follicles by thickening the hair shaft. Your hair will look thicker and healthier. Multiple hair follicles will move from resting to growth phase simultaneously. The quantity of hair follicles stays the same. If minoxidil is used topically, the hair must be prepared. This process requires effort as a routine must be followed. The hairstyles you can choose from are limited since hair must be cut short to allow minoxidil to reach the scalp for maximum effect. The scalp must be dry and clean before applying minoxidil. Minoxidil must stay on the scalp for 1 to 2 hours meanwhile you must avoid anything that can disturb the substance. Change in scalp texture such as reddening must be tolerated. Stopping the treatment will reverse the hair improvements. Oral minoxidil can be used instead to bypass the disadvantageous commitments from topical minoxidil. Oral minoxidil will stimulate hair growth throughout your whole body. You may need to shave other parts of the body except the head.
Microneedling
Microneedling promotes the growth of existing hair. Tiny punctures in the skin are produced by tools such as derma roller and derma pen. The micro injuries activate your body's healing process. This heals the micro injuries and also stimulates blood flow to the area improving the quality of the existing hair follicle. There are still the same number of hair follicles. Hair will need to be short to allow the needle to reach full depth for more effect. Hairstyle can be altered as a result of hair strands being cut by micro needling. A regime will need to be followed where time and effort is allocated to micro needling. Longer sessions of needling are proven to get better results. Scalp could become more sensitive to the weather after needling. If it's sunny after micro needling, a sun cream may be needed. Micro needling forms scar tissue on your scalp. Scar tissue will impede your ability to regrow hair follicles spiritually. Scalp may bleed. There is a possibility of infections, the scalp will require disinfectant. It's safer to be on antibiotics to ward off infections. There will be itching and redness and risk of further scarring.
PRP
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is injected into the scalp. There are growth factors in the PRP that may aid in hair growth. The surplus growth factors in the scalp transitions multiple hair follicles to the growth phase. Hair thickness and density increase but new hair doesn’t grow once they have died. However it's not confirmed if PRP or tool needles are causing hair growth. The procedure may give the impression of a regrowth but it's really just your existing hair improving. Dormant hair follicles that have not yet died may activate. PRP is usually administered one month apart by a professional although it can vary. Time and effort must be expended in going to appointments in order to maintain results. Missing a session can hinder results therefore locking you into a string of costly sessions. Since PRP is delivered through a needle, the recipient area must be prepared with anesthetic and disinfectant.
