Hairpiece

Regrowth

There is certainly no regrowth however different hairpieces can be fitted with varying degrees of density over time to resemble a regrowth. Equally hairpieces which look balder over time can be worn so you go bald gracefully. Hairpieces are versatile and can be adapted to cover a specific bald spot either on the hairline or the crown or anywhere else on your scalp.

Your real hair under the hairpiece will grow as usual. The hairpiece texture will stay the same throughout its life until it is no longer needed. The hairpiece has no lifecycle but simply acts as stand-in for your hair.

Ongoing treatment commitment

Hairpieces are different from real hair therefore they must be treated differently. You will have to learn to wear a hairpiece so you must invest effort and time. You may need specialist help for a time. Your daily routine will be altered to accommodate the hairpiece. Tasks like showering, exercising and styling will have to be changed. Scalp will need regular cleaning as a result of buildup underneath the hairpiece. You will have to guard your hairpiece if it is fragile or susceptible to extreme weather.

Currently there is social stigma associated with men wearing a hairpiece. You can conceal the fact that it's a hairpiece but discovery can lead to a bigger impact on your social life since the hair everybody has been admiring is fake. You may initially feel like an imposter but over time you will learn to tolerate it.

Complications

The risk of developing infection or mold underneath the hairpiece is low.

Reversible

A hairpiece can be removed easily without a specialist.
